Material: Onyx (SH-F01)
Onyx is made out of quartz sand, a natural raw material that impresses especially with its incomparable haptics and look. This creates a predominantly positive association, which triggers a sense of well-being and at the same time has an attractive appeal.
True to our claim “Changing perceptions”, SANDHELDEN changes the general perception of sand as a loose material by shaping it into long-lasting and robust objects.
We primarily use quartz sand that is edgy and heterogeneous in shape. As a result, the individual grains interlock better, increasing the stability of the 3D-printed objects.
Depending on the printer, between 1,700 and 11,200 kg of sand can be processed for each printing run. Excess material is directly recycled in production and reused in subsequent 3D printing processes.
